"Crossing Euphrates"

On that day Jehovah concluded with Abram a covenant, saying: “To your seed I will give this land, from the river of Egypt to the great river, the river Euphrates." -- Genesis 15:18

According to the Bible, Jehovah provided much needed INSPIRED LEADERSHIP in the first century and in ancient times (like in the days of Moses), and yet are we to believe He refuses to see the need of providing it in our day and time??? Does this make sense to you? Does this seem consistent to you? (See John 16:13, 14)

(Isaiah 2:1-5)
How are we to understand the contents of Isaiah 2:1-5? Has this bible prophecy been fulfilled as the Watchtower Society has said, by Jehovah's Witnesses preaching the "good news" to over 200 lands today? Or, will there be a future fulfillment of it?

Concerned JW
Dear Concerned JW:

Isaiah 2:1-5 reads:

" The thing that Isaiah the son of A´moz visioned concerning Judah and Jerusalem: And it must occur in the final part of the days [that] the mountain of the house of Jehovah will become firmly established above the top of the mountains, and it will certainly be lifted up above the hills; and to it all the nations must stream. And many peoples will certainly go and say: "Come, YOU people, and let us go up to the mountain of Jehovah, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will instruct us about his ways, and we will walk in his paths." For out of Zion law will go forth, and the word of Jehovah out of Jerusalem. And he will certainly render judgment among the nations and set matters straight respecting many peoples. And they will have to beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning shears. Nation will not lift up sword against nation, neither will they learn war anymore.

O men of the house of Jacob, come and let us walk in the light of Jehovah." - New World Translation

To see where Jehovah's Witnesses fit into this prophecy, we must ask ourselves, what does the expression: The "MOUNTAIN OF JEHOVAH" mean? To be sure, it is something all of us can benefit from learning.

A literal mountain SETS HIGH ABOVE the surrounding land. It is a place that everyone in the area knows about. Anyone that stands on that mountain no doubt has a clear view of the vast earth for many miles, a much sharper view than a person standing on the ground below the mountain. It is in the same sense that Isaiah's prophecy is intended. Jehovah's spiritual "mountain" is something that is SET HIGH ABOVE all other forms of worship. Indeed the "mountain" is very visible, so that everyone can recognize it as different, special, majestic even. So we must recognize that it means a higher level of spiritual understanding and discernment, demonstrated in wise conduct and attitudes for these special people. (Matthew 11:19; Luke 7:35) So, anyone standing on Jehovah's elevated spiritual "mountain" can be clearly seen by the entire world at large, because of the "Mountain" being free from obstruction with nothing hindering a view of it, as it stands tall and majestic before all others. Indeed, possessing God's Law itself and living by it, was supposed to elevate the entire nation of Israel before all other nations. -- See Deuteronomy 26:17-19; Deuteronomy 28:1.

Now a few questions that must be answered are:

1. Is this a fitting description for the current spiritual state of Jehovah's Witnesses today?

2. Is their conduct free from reproach, among the nations and people that they preach to? (See Romans 2:21-24.)

3. Are they (Jehovah's Witnesses) as a world-wide religion truly free from obstruction for all to see, just like a high mountain would be...a high mountain of 6.5 million Divine Truth-Bearers who WELL REPRESENT Jehovah God? (John 1:6)

4. In other words, could we truthfully say their form of worship today, can be said to be greatly ELEVATED above all other forms of worship upon earth today?

If we are truly honest-hearted about this whole matter, when we carefully consider all of the 7 Indictments of Wickedness Upon Jehovah's Witnesses! clearly visible upon this people today, we would have to say the answers to these questions resoundingly rang out:

most definitely NO!

There can be no doubt about this matter. No, Jehovah's Witnesses today are NOT in an elevated spiritual state and do not possess an elevated form of worship today. They exist today, instead in a most degraded form of worship, placing many obstructions to clear Divine Truth before sincere truth-seekers today, much to their everlasting shame. Take for example just a few current problems among those in the organization of Jehovah's Witnesses:

1) The Watchtower Society has slyly manuevered themselves over the years into a position where Jehovah's Witnesses share their allegience between the Organization and Jehovah! This fact was clearly demonstrated when they made a change to the baptismal questions in which Jehovah's Witnesses recognize the Watchtower organization AS A PART OF THEIR DEDICATION TO GOD. This is clearly shown in Question #2 of the baptismal questions. Recognition of the organization goes along with their dedication to God.

2) The Watchtower's affiliation with the United Nations as a Non-Governmental Organization is by far one of the most heinous crimes they have commited! It has plummeted them into apostasy as a nation.

3) The Silentlambs Organization has given solid evidence that the Watchtower is mistreating it's own flock by allowing child molesters to run rampant without punishment. -- See Silentlambs Organization

Therefore based upon the above and many other factors, it is obvious Jehovah's Witnesses are not in their present-day spiritual condition to be considered in any way, shape or form, the present-day spiritual "MOUNTAIN OF JEHOVAH." However, the prophet Daniel does give us a little more insight on the matter. He speaks of a time when God would allow the "Land of Decoration" to be overrun by the "King of the North" during the time of the end, and would be replaced by the "MOUNTAIN OF DECORATION" of God's making. - Matthew 21:43; Daniel 11:16, 41, 45

We already spoke of what a "mountain" means spiritually. But what of a "land"? A "Land of Decoration" as spoken of at Daniel 11:41, would not be elevated like a mountain would be. No, but it would be considered flat, low, thus symbolizing an impaired or degraded form of worship, and would be obstructed from view. No one could really see it in this low "land" state. It would not be very visible to the general public.

Indeed, this describes the present-day spiritual state Jehovah's witnesses find themselves in today. They certainly are "decorated " by the fact that they carry Jehovah's name, and have been declaring it all these years. But they are degraded and low by their misconduct, by which they DEFAME God's Great and Holy Name. Because of this and other sins, bible prophecy shows the organization of Jehovah's Witnesses will be OVERRUN by the King of the North, in the near future, thus allowing the new REPLACEMENT "mountain," the "MOUNTAIN OF DECORATION" to rise.

(For more detail information on God's Kingdom Government being upon earth, please see the article entitled: Jerusalem First Disciplined, Then Praised By All Nations!)

As for the "good news", Jesus said that it was about "THE KINGDOM." Since Jehovah's Witnesses teach that the Kingdom began in 1914, which is completely untrue, they really are not teaching the "good news" either. These things both occur in the near future, and not as the Watchtower Society currently teaches.
