Babylon The Great & A Critical Mistake In Interpretation

Post by Abaddon (Ex. 23:21) »

BABYLON THE GREAT AND A CRITICAL MISTAKE IN INTERPRETATION!

At this point we would like to drive home something noteworthy in our ongoing discussion of the true identity of Babylon The Great. And that main point is this:

Before an individual can properly understand the Book of Revelation, he certainly has to understand to whom the prophecies (the message of the prophets of old in the Hebrew text) apply in the rest of the Bible. In fact, it would be impossible for anyone to understand the book of Revelation without first understanding the other books of the Bible, particularly the prophetic books.

Indeed, it is as Revelation 10:7 says:

"...in the days of the sounding of the seventh angel, when he is about to blow his trumpet, the sacred secret of God according to the good news which he declared to his own slaves the prophets is indeed brought to a finish."

Yes, the "sacred secret" of God, is actually wrapped up in the message of the "prophets" of old, prophets like Jeremiah, Isaiah, Ezekiel, Daniel and many, many others. Therefore, we must have a clear understanding of these books and sense the meaning of their message for our day, before we can properly understand the book of Revelation. Yes, we notice that all the prophecies work together, in harmony, both Hebrew and Greek Scriptures. The Bible is the most harmonious book in the world, and the book of Revelation is no exception.

BABYLON THE GREAT RIDES THE BEAST!

As we mentioned in previous articles published by the YORWW Congregation, the "great city" of Revelation 11:8, no, is not Christendom as the Watchtower Society has claimed in its printed publications, but actually is "Babylon the Great" itself, the mysterious "Mother of the Harlots," yes, the Watchtower Society! And of course, her daughter "harlots" are none other than her over 100,000 congregations scattered worldwide who willingly support her many acts of "harlotry" in providing a place for the "beast," and will finally compromise and willingly accept the "mark of the beast" on a permanent basis, yes, when she comes under intense persecution during the future "trampling" period allotted from to be some 42 months in length. Oh yes, to be sure, the Watchtower Society, at that time, will fully compromise (just like when courting the United Nations Organization from 1991 thru 2001 as secret NGO Supporters) when the full weight of persecution comes upon her during the "42 months" of trampling allowed by Righteous Jehovah God these wicked ones for their many wicked deeds! — Ezekiel 16:59-63; Revelation 13:5-7

Yes she, Babylon the Great, the Watchtower Society itself, will at that time will openly and fully "ride" the "Beast," when the "42 months" of trampling, as vividly described in the 13th chapter of Revelation and Daniel 7th chapter, comes upon her.

Actually, we cannot help but notice that Babylon The Great, really does not enter the earthly scene (as shown by the book of Revelation) until, yes, until AFTER the WAR. And, yes after the "wild beast" itself "comes out of the abyss" and makes it's attack on the "Two Witnesses!" Yes, the book of Revelation is quite clear on that point. -- See Revelation 11:7.

So, after, yes after the "Great War," as shown in Daniel 10:1 (NIV) has come to an end, then and only then, Babylon The Great is seen being "carried" by the wild beast from the "wilderness" standpoint. Yes, Babylon The Great, yes she is seen in the "wilderness" too, but only for a short while. In fact, it is this short stay in the "wilderness" (while being persecuted) that will convince her of the need to get upon the back of that "beast" and ride it for all it's worth!

Therefore, we can safely conclude and fully expect in the future, that the Watchtower Society will capitulate when outstanding oppressive measures are taken against the organization itself by the the political governments of this world. And of course, because of intense persecution upon the organization itself, the Watchtower Society will during this time of powerful persecution, yes quickly seize the opportunity to remove this persecution from its midst, by allowing herself to be led along with "smooth words," yes "smooth words" of the future reigning king of that time, yes the "King of the North," and will ultimately climb upon the back of the "beast" to "ride" and cause many, many Jehovah's witnesses who follow her in this dastardly deed, to finally receive the "mark of the beast," and lose Jehovah's favor...permanently. — Daniel 11:32; Revelation 13:16, 17; Revelation 17:3

Therefore, the final spiritual demise of Babylon the Great, or the Watchtower Society, will occur when the "King of the North" leads them into "apostasy," as highlighted at Daniel 11:32...still a future event in itself. And we know, this will occur after the 1,260 days of prophesying by the "Two Witnesses" have been completed first. Afterwhich, a special 7-year period of intense discipline will be allowed by Jehovah upon His Own Name People, Jehovah's witnesses some 6 million strong. Yes, at this time, "Great Distress" will come upon God's Name People, for their past acts of wickedness, practiced unrepentantly. -- Jeremiah 30:7

Actually, the first part of this foretold 7-year period of "Distress," begins with a specific "42 month" trampling period or Harrassment period upon God's Name People, Jehovah's witnesses themselves. (Jeremiah 30:7; Revelation 13:5-7; Daniel 7:21, 25) This special 42 month period is also called the "Gentile Times" which is to be unleashed strictly upon "Jerusalem" or God's Name People. (Luke 21:27) Afterwhich, after the "42 months" of trampling has been completed, then we should expect the "death" of the "Two Witnesses," (or the organized Reformers among Jehovah's witnesses themselves) to be accomplished. This special "dead" like period, is to last for "3 1/2 days," or 3 1/2 years. Therefore, in this way, the powerful work of the reformers among Jehovah's witnesses, will at this time as bible prophecy indicates, yes the "power of the holy ones" itself, yes the "power" of the "Two Witnesses" themselves, will be "dashed to pieces," by the "Small Horn" of bible prophecy, yes OSAMA BIN LADEN himself, yes the leader of the Islamic Extremist Movement that is known today as: AL QAIDA!

"HIS DEED IS STRANGE AND HIS WORK IS UNUSUAL"

At Isaiah 28:21 we read these words:

"For Jehovah will rise up just as at Mount Perazim, he will be agitated just as in the low plain near Gibeon, that he may do his deed — his deed is strange his work is unusual."

We remember, according to 2 Samuel 5:20, Jehovah God "rose up" [literally "broke out"] upon the Philistines at Mount Perazim, to destroy them. Also, as mentioned at Joshua 10:10-12, Jehovah God sent hailstones from the heavens to destroy the Amorites. Both accounts tell of stupendous victories for "Jehovah of Armies" in behalf of his people. However, we must remember that there is nothing "strange" or "unusual" in Jehovah defending His people in warfare. No, but He has done this on many, many occasions. So then, what makes this particular situation that the prophet Isaiah speaks of, so "unusual," so "strange."

Well, what "work" could be "stranger," what "deed" could be more "unusual," than Jehovah God making use of the same type of war tactics against His own people! Yes, what could be "stranger," more "unusual," in the minds of His Name people, than His unexpected "work" or "deed" of warring against them in His anger, we ask? (Jeremiah 23:19, 20) If Jehovah God were to turn on His own people and start to destroy the nation we refer to as the "Jehovah's Witnesses," what could be "stranger," more "unusual" than this, to them. Yes, His "work" will seem quite "strange," quite "unusual" to Jehovah's Witnesses, His Name people, when He "rises up" against them, as he did to His enemies at "Mount Perazim." Yes, Jehovah will be "agitated just as in the low plain of Gibeon." But how will Jehovah demonstrate his anger upon His Name people. Well, some unusual events will have to take place to facilitate this situation. Let's consider a particular prophecy that has been explained a certain way by the Watchtower Society for over the past 60 years, but will soon actually backfire in the very faces of all 6 million Jehovah's witnesses ...yes, very soon now! "And what prophecy is that," you say? Well, let's consider the following information provided below.

CRITICAL MISTAKE IN INTERPRETATION

Revelation 17:8, according to the New World Translation, says:

"The wild beast that you saw was, but is not, and yet is about to ascend out of the abyss, and it is to go off into destruction. And when they see how the wild beast was, but is not, and yet will be present, those who dwell on the earth will wonder admiringly [Greek thaumos], but their names have not been written upon the scroll of life from the founding of the world."

Of course, the Watchtower Society says this particular prophecy was fulfilled in the following manner. First, the "beast was" or existed as the "League of Nations" before World War II. And then, it "is not," or existed not, in the sense that it [the League of Nations] went into the "abyss" of inoperation during the years of World War II. And finally, the "beast" will "ascend out of the abyss," and according to the angel, "yet will be present," for a time. This was supposedly fulfilled in the sense that the now revitalized "United Nations" organization, replaced the "League of Nations" as the world organization for "Peace and Security," after War II. The following is a quote from the publication Revelation It's Grand Climax at Hand which explains the prophecy. It says:

"What light did the talk `Peace — Can It Last?' throw on the prophecy? Clearly identifying the scarlet-colored wild beast of Revelation 17:3 as the League of Nations, President Knorr went on to discuss its stormy career on the basis of the angel's following words to John: `The wild beast that you saw was, but is not, and yet is about to ascend out of the abyss, and it is to go off into destruction.' — Revelation 17:8a

" `The wild beast...was.' Yes, it had existed as the League of Nations from January 10, 1920, onward, with 63 nations participating at one time or another. But, in turn, Japan, Germany, and Italy withdrew, and the Soviet Union was dropped from the League. In September 1939 the Nazi dictator of Germany launched World War II. Having failed to keep peace in the world, the League of Nations virtually plunged into an abyss of inactivity. By 1942 it had become a has-been. Neither before this nor at some later date did Jehovah interpret to his people the full depth of meaning of the vision! At the New World Theocratic Assembly, President Knorr could declare, in line with the prophecy, `the wild beast...is not.' He then asked the question, `Will the League remain in the pit?' Quoting Revelation 17:8, he answered: `The association of worldly nations will rise again.' That is just how it proved to be in vindication of Jehovah's prophetic Word!" — pg. 247

Also, under the picture on this page, the caption states:

"As prophesied about the scarlet-colored wild beast, the League of Nations was abyssed during World War II but was revived as the United Nations."

Therefore, the Watchtower Society made a unique prediction during the year of 1942, namely that of prophesying the revitalization of the "scarlet colored beast" in some form or manner. And, sure enough, in the year of 1945, the United Nations Organization was formed. And of course, as the article brings out, this was in complete "vindication of Jehovah's prophetic Word." Yes, the President of the Watchtower Society is acclaimed as something of a "prophet" to God's people. According to the Watchtower Society, President Knorr directed the world's attention to the revival of the organization called the League of Nations, approximately 3 years before it happened. How impressive!

However, there is only one thing wrong with his prediction. What is that?

Well, simply put, the League of Nations DID NOT 'COME OUT OF THE ABYSS.' No, but the League of Nations as an organization completely died, and was not revitalized. But a completely new political organization emerged, the United Nations.

In fact, it might surprise many individuals to know that the United States, who was primarily responsible for the formation of the United Nations Organization, was itself not even a part of the League of Nations. No, the U.S. never joined the organization. Therefore, how can we actually say that the same entity that went into the "abyss," also came out of the "abyss?" The scripture didn't say that the "beast" would enter as one entity, and later "ascend" out as another. That simply does not make sense. Think about it. Therefore, the Watchtower Society's reasoning on this matter is quite specious.

Nevertheless, Jehovah's Witnesses as a nation feel that this explanation is "air-tight." There can be no flaws in it. It is conclusive proof that the Watchtower Society, under its new President, Nathan Knorr in the year of 1942, proved itself to be a bonifide "prophet." No, nothing will change their minds on that.

However, consider this:

Suppose, just suppose, that the War spoken of as "World War II," is not the "war" spoken of in Holy Scripture that plunges the "beast" into the "abyss" of inactivity. And further, suppose, just suppose that there is a much greater war to come on the scene. Fathom if you will, that this particular war itself will plunge the complete world, as we know it today, into complete and total warfare. And further suppose that this War proves to be the greatest war of all time, yes "World War III." What will the Jehovah's Witnesses, as well as the Watchtower Society say about this great, unexpected event? — Daniel 10:1 New International Version; Revelation 6:4

Well, to get the answer to this question: Let's review exactly what Revelation 17:11 actually says:

"And the wild beast that was but is not, it is also itself an eighth [king], but springs from the seven, and it goes off into destruction."

Yes, after the "beast" ascends out of the "abyss" for the final time, then the only course left for it according to scripture, is "destruction." The scripture says that it, the "beast" after ascending out of the "abyss," will `go off into destruction.' Therefore, if a war, of this magnitude should occur between the political nations, the Watchtower Society will certainly feel that this great war is going to lead to "Armageddon," the complete destruction of all wicked mankind by Jehovah God himself. (Revelation 16:14, 16) That is the only course left for the "scarlet-colored wild beast," since it has already gone out of existence in the "abyss" and since then, emerged as of 1945 as the United Nations, right?

STRONG ASSERTIONS TO BE MADE IN THE FUTURE

Therefore, we can rightfully expect, yes be assured, that the Watchtower Society will make strong assertions in their printed publications concerning the scarlet-colored "beast" or United Nations organization, that it will surely go out of existence, during the Great War shortly ahead. They will no doubt be very sure that since this "beast" has already gone into the "abyss" during the years of "World War II," that the only thing left, according to scripture, is for the "beast" to "go off into destruction." Doesn't that seem reasonable to you? It certainly will seem reasonable to Jehovah's Witnesses during this time. And that is exactly what Jehovah's Witnesses will think when they see this "great war" ahead. They will think that this war will lead to "Armageddon" — they will believe that the complete destruction of all human governments by Jesus Christ is about to take place.

Oh, but a "strange" thing will suddenly happen! Yes, the war will suddenly stop, and nations will reach some accord of peace, between them. Not only is this strange, but the "scarlet-colored beast" will now do something even stranger, more "unusual" even. What is that?

Well, when the War suddenly stops, and the "beast" under the direction of the "king of the North" makes his attack upon the organization of Jehovah's Witnesses, — and there is no "Armageddon" to deliver them, what will they do? What do you think they will do? After some brief persecution from this "beast" they will predictably compromise! This will happen because these powerful events spoken of at Revelation will again, catch them completely off guard. Right now, they are so sure of their predictions, no, they cannot possibly be wrong concerning their understanding of the book of Revelation, could they? Yes, that is why they will become "dumbfounded." The Bible will become a "sealed" book to them. (Isaiah 29:11) These "shepherds" will now become "speechless dogs." (Isaiah 56:10,11; Revelation 22:15) They have become "empty-headed in their reasonings. (Romans 1:21) "Dumbfounded" is what they will become. This is exactly what the Bible says will happen to them.

THEY WILL "WONDER ADMIRINGLY" OR BE "DUMBFOUNDED" — WHICH?

But where does the Bible say they will become "dumbfounded?" This is an interesting question. Notice the following passage from the book of Revelation. It says:

"...And when they see how the wild beast was, but is not, and yet will be present, those who dwell on the earth will wonder [admiringly]." — Revelation 17:8 New World Translation

You will notice that in the Watchtower Society's New World Translation itself, the word "admiringly" is shown in brackets, as we have quoted above. Why? This is because the translators, namely the Watchtower Society, inserted this particular word to enhance their own interpretation of the Scripture. Yes, "admiringly" really is not there in the literal Greek. The Greek word is just "wonder" [thaumos]. However, the Living Bible renders the same verse this way. It says:

"and the people of earth, whose names have not been written in the Book of Life before the world began, will be dumbfounded at his reappearance after being dead."

Yes, "dumbfounded." The footnote from this particular Translation comments on the verse:

"Literally, dumbfounded at the ruler who was, and is not, and will be present."

This understanding is indeed, in complete harmony with the actual Greek word here thauma which means:

"a wonder, to gaze in wonder, amazement." (Vines Expository of New Testament Words)

For example, in verse 6 of the same chapter, we find the Greek word thaumos. It says:

"And I [John] saw that the woman was drunk with the blood of the holy ones and with the blood of the witnesses of Jesus. Well, on catching sight of her I wondered [existemi] with great wonderment [thaumos]."

Did you notice that the Watchtower Society decided to render this expression as "great wonderment." Yes, and remember, this is the same word the Watch Tower Society chose to render as "wonder admiringly" in verse 8. However, think a minute:

Do you really think that the apostle had "great admiration" for the one responsible for spilling the blood of all the holy ones? And further, would John have "admiration" for one who was "drunk with the blood" of all the "holy ones and with the blood of the witnesses of Jesus?" Hardly.

And so you can see that to render this Greek word as "wonder admiringly" is a very misleading rendition of Revelation 17:8, when we compare it with verse 6. Nevertheless, the Watchtower Society had enough correct knowledge of the Greek to render thaumos as "great wonderment," just two verses earlier by saying:

"...Well, on catching sight of her I wondered [existemi] with great wonderment [thaumos]." (vs. 6)

Yes, "great wonderment," astonishment, surprise, disbelief! Or, how about being, "dumbfounded," completely speechless — because the Watchtower Society will not know what to make of it! The Watchtower Society really expected the beast to go off into "destruction." Oh, yes Revelation 17:11 says the "beast" will "go off into destruction," but not yet. It's not quite time for it. You see, the Watchtower Society is running ahead of Jehovah's timetable and they are going to pay dearly for it!

Again, the same scenario is depicted for us at Revelation 13:3 where we read:

"And I saw one of its [beast's] heads as though slaughtered to death, but its death-stroke got healed, and all the earth followed the wild beast with admiration [existemi]."

We notice another instance, where the Watchtower Society has taken the Greek expression existemi, and incorrectly rendered it as "admiration" instead of it's literal meaning of "to put out of wit," "astound," or "amaze." [Strong's Exhaustive Concordance] In fact, according to the Watchtower's Society's own Kingdom Interlinear Translation, the English word "wonder" is directly transliterated as the true meaning of "existemi," although the translators decided to make use of the word "admiration" instead in their translation of this verse. However, we would have to admit to ourselves as Bible students that for the Watchtower Society to substitute the word "admiration" for "wonderment" or "surprise" completely changes the meaning or intent of the verse, is that not so? Think about it.

Therefore, according to Revelation 17:8 and also Revelation 13:3, we notice that certain individuals — yes God's Name people, Jehovah's Witnesses, are described as being totally surprised, "dumbfounded" even, at the reappearance of the "beast" that engaged in warfare, as indicated by the "sword-stroke," and somehow revived, or was "healed." Yes, this "beast" does not immediately "go off into destruction," but much to the horror of the Watchtower Society and Jehovah's Witnesses worldwide, comes to life again after the Great War of Daniel 10:1, and Revelation 6:4, more powerful than before. And this greatly `surprises' them. They will be completely speechless. Think about it.

Therefore, the events did not transpire as the Watchtower Society thought they would. Remember, they think that the "king of the North" will advance toward the "mountain of Decoration" [Watchtower Society, and Jehovah's Witnesses as a nation] and will be promptly destroyed by Jesus Christ as mentioned at Daniel 11:44, 45. However, what the "king of the North" will do is go through them like a `hot knife through butter' as clearly depicted for us at Daniel 11:40, 41. Again, they are a little ahead of themselves in the explanations of these prophecies! Yes, and it is going to cost them dearly!

When it doesn't happen the way they think it will happen, will the Bible and Jehovah have deceived them? No, of course not! They have deceived themselves with "false reasonings." Remember, they have applied every negative aspect of scripture and prophecy for over a 100 years to Christendom and not themselves! And they will certainly "stumble." Make no mistake about that! — Daniel 11:40,41; Matthew 24:9-12

It will be just as the famous British author and poet, Sir Walter Scott, once stated in his poem "Lochinvar," stanza 17:

"Oh what a tangled web we weave
when first we practice to deceive."

Think about it, Watchtower Society.

BABYLON THE GREAT, THE GREAT MYSTERY OF GOD!

Yes, Babylon the Great is a Great Mystery! Remember, the Greek word for mystery [my-sterion] means "religious" or "sacred secret." And it will remain such until the "revealing" of the "Man of Lawlessness," when again the real "Babylon the Great," can be identified by God's people. The Watch Tower Society must be "revealed," must be exposed, must be shown to be the nefarious Babylon the Great, the one who holds God's people in captivity! Think about it.

Here is an excellent opportunity for serious students of the Bible to differentiate between the "sibboleth" and "shibboleth" of the truth of God's Word. The distinction may seem ever so slight to some people, but yet it will prove to be the difference between ones who have spiritual perception and ones who do not! It will mean life for those "who have their perceptive powers trained to distinguish both right and wrong!" — Judges 12:4-6; Hebrews 5:14.

The obvious problem with Jehovah's Witnesses is that, even though they claim to read the Bible daily, most of them are not really `Beroean' Bible students. Most of them are not `noble-minded' as they should be. (Hebrews 5:11-13; Acts 17:11) Yet, mercifully Jehovah will allow a sizeable number (a 1/3 part) of Jehovah's Witnesses to learn by discipline the principle:

"Man must live, not on bread alone, but on every utterance coming forth through Jehovah's mouth." (Matthew 4:4)

Yes, these "disciplined" ones, the refined "one-third part" of God's Name People, yes the repentant 1/3 part of the "woman" of Revelation 12th chapter, will indeed make the right choice in the end! (Isaiah 30:26; Zechariah 13:8, 9; Revelation 12:6, 14) Therefore, there will finally be a positive end to this earthshaking, very traumatic story. Yes, Jehovah has made provision for his people. But what is that provision? — Isaiah 29:24; Hebrews 12:7-12; Jeremiah 30:11

THE "HOUSE OF JACOB" VERSUS THE "HOUSE OF THE GOD OF JACOB"

Let's turn to Isaiah 2:2-10 and read this together. It reads this way:

"And it must occur in the final part of the days [that] the mountain of the house of Jehovah will become firmly established above the top of the mountains, and it will certainly be lifted up above the hills; and to it all the nations must stream. And many peoples will certainly go and say: `Come, you people, and let us go up to the mountain of Jehovah, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will instruct us about his ways, and we will walk in his paths.' For out of Zion law will go forth, and the word of Jehovah out of Jerusalem. And he will certainly render judgment among the nations and set matters straight respecting many peoples. And they will have to beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning shears. Nation will not lift up sword against nation, neither will they learn war anymore."

Clearly this is a prophecy for our day and time since as verse 2 says:

"it must occur in the final part of the days."

Jehovah's Witnesses teach that these prophecies have been fulfilled within their ranks, particularly since the year 1919. With membership numbering better than 6 million, the organization of Jehovah's Witnesses claim to have advanced to the `Mountain of Jehovah' where they have received necessary instructions to `beat their swords into plowshares' by their non-participation in military warfare. They feel these matters have certainly `set matters straight respecting many peoples' among the organization of Jehovah's Witnesses. It is true the organization of Jehovah's Witnesses has gained world-renown fame concerning their neutral, non-compromising stand on military service. And this seems to make a discernable positive identification of the fulfillment of this prophesy upon the Jehovah's Witnesses in our day and time.

However, if this prophecy is undergoing a past and present-day fulfillment (since 1919), then we should also be able to explain the next two (2) verses which depict an event leading up to this magnificent unity spoken of in verse 4. Notice how it reads:

"O men of the house of Jacob, come and let us walk in the light of Jehovah. For you have forsaken your people, the house of Jacob. For they have become full of what is from the EAST [Babylon], and they are practicers of magic like the Philistines, and with the children of foreigners they abound. And their land is filled with silver and gold, and there is no limit to their treasures. And their land is filled with horses, and there is no limit to their chariots. And their land is filled with valueless gods. To the work of one's hands they bow down, to that which one's fingers have made. And earthling man bows down, and man becomes low, and you cannot possibly pardon them."

So when did this occur? Well, let's turn to the pages of the Watchtower Magazine to see what it says on these very same verses. First, we shall check the Watchtower Society's Publication Indexes to see where we can find some information on this part of Isaiah Chapter 2. And what do we find — nothing! That's right, absolutely nothing, not one single comment on the very important verses of Isaiah 2:6-11, to explain the preceding turbulence which is indicated to occur BEFORE the great prophesied unity of Jehovah's Witnesses as an organization! Does it not seem reasonable that if Isaiah 2:2-5 can be understood to the fullest detail `in the final part of the days' (as we have had numerous discussions in the publications over the years on these verses), that the continuation of Biblical prophetic drama (Isaiah 2:6-10) would be understood also? Well, how are we to understand these additional verses?

It is obvious from reading these scriptures that the prophet Isaiah is discussing a separation work which would be going on in the `final part of the days.' A great separation work has to precede the harmony, unity, and education spoken of in verse 4! Since the invitation is given to the `men of the house of Jacob' to step over into the `light' — then spiritual enlightenment must await them at the other side. Other side, you say??? Yes, notice again verse 3. Did you happen to notice that this house is called "the house of the GOD of Jacob." Whereas, the house spoken of in verses 5 and 6 is termed "the house of Jacob." In other words, one "house" belongs to God and the other belongs to Jacob. Astonishing, indeed! — See Isaiah 29:14; Acts 13:41.

Also did you notice too, one "house" possesses LIGHT and the other possesses material riches (verse 7)! Hmmmmm. Also, we notice a powerful, exodus in progress — yes, we see members of the `house of Jacob' FORSAKING `their people.' Do you see this? Why, yes, you can clearly see...yes, they are leaving them behind. And why? Again, let's notice verse 6:

"For you have forsaken your people, the house of Jacob....

For they have become:

(1) FULL OF WHAT IS FROM THE EAST,
(2) and THEY ARE PRACTICERS OF MAGIC LIKE THE PHILISTINES,
(3) and WITH THE CHILDREN OF FOREIGNERS THEY ABOUND."

Yes, they have good reason to leave them for they [the house of Jacob] God's People, have become polluted as an organization! They have become corrupted as a nation. Therefore, there is nothing left for them to do but leave the unfaithful `house of Jacob' behind! Remember: "She has become full of what is from the East" — east, as in Babylon, the ancient center of false worship in Isaiah's time! -- Please compare the expressions "...have become" in both verses and notice the striking similarities shown between both verses in Revelation 18:2 and Isaiah 2:6.

Nevertheless, someone will say at this point:

"Jehovah's Witnesses are a clean people and a clean organization. The organization does not tolerate any form of wrongdoing or wrong activity like the churches of Christendom. We disfellowship or expel any who unrepentantly persist in wrong conduct. We have no Babylonish (or Eastern) traits, traditions, or teachings among us such as Trinity, Hellfire, Christmas, etc. And we are certainly not like the pagan Philistines who were practicers of magic."

Well, this may seem so to most individuals looking at it from a human point of view. (Proverbs 14:12) However, let us look at the scripture again. It says:

"For they have BECOME . . ."

Yes, Jehovah's Witnesses "have become" this way. (Please compare the expressions "...have become" in their striking similarities between Isaiah 2:6 with Revelation 18:2.) Yes, they have gradually changed. They have gone through a spiritual metamorphosis. Yes, gradually, over a period of time, the organization known as Jehovah's witnesses, have yes, "become," this wicked...think about it.

Yes, gradually, over a period of time, the organization known as Jehovah's witnesses, have yes, "become," this wicked...think about it.

Thanks! :)

We are glad you enjoyed this article on Babylon The Great.

Now since you liked that one, tell me what do you think of this particular article entitled: Jehovah's Witnesses Measured In The Light of the Scriptures

This article I believe gives us a very interesting perspective of what is currently happening to all of God's Name People who are held in CAPTIVITY to modern-day Babylon the Great.

So after reading, please let me know what you think of the idea that Jehovah's witnesses could be God's Name People, who are held in total captivity to the Watchtower Society, as Babylon The Great. If this is the case, then we could easily see how Jehovah's witnesses could become the "MY PEOPLE" who are spoken of in Revelation 18:4, as needing to come out of Babylon the Great without delay.

Thanks... :)
