OK, Here goes. My father was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses in 1941. My mother was born and raised a JW, she was born in 1933. So I was raised a witness. I went to all the meetings and was an MS for 8 or 9 years. I was the account servant for a few years. I was on the purchasing Department for assembly hall buildings for about 4 years. Anyway I was always in disagreement with teachings they promoted. Like all other Christians are to be destroyed if they weren’t JW’s. The whole 1914 Jesus became King thing is so wrong. Further the Jesus has returned and appointed them is another problem I have with them. Also the memorial where we all sit and do just the opposite of what Christ asked of us. My father died a few years back and he had all of the publications by the WTBTS back to the 1800’s. I started reading some of them and that was it. I let never to return. Its been about 11/2 now..

Thank you for the warm welcome.

Further I feel the whole arrangement of their organization is just like Judaism. It’s all about the rules. Break a rule and we will break you!

Another problem I have is with their name, Jehovah’s Witnesses! A true Christian will be identified as that and only that. Christian. 25 So he went off to Tarsus to make a thorough search for Saul 26 and, after he found him, he brought him to Antioch. It thus came about that for a whole year they gathered together with them in the congregation and taught quite a crowd, and it was first in Antioch that the disciples were by divine providence called Christians.

I have an article that could shed some light on the name "Jehovah's Witnesses" and its grave importance to us today. Please read it over and tell me what you think of this particular article. Its entitled: Jehovah's Witnesses Measured In The Light of the Scriptures

Thanks, :)

Hi Rooster, :D

Good point!

In fact, that is a good comparison if you are meaning the Jewish rulership [Pharisee, Sadducees, etc...] in the first century with the Watchtower Society today. The Pharisees had their own "oral laws" that were not scriptural. Example: washing your hands up to your elbows, even going so far as to which hand you wash first. Where as today, you have to make five meeting a week or you are not good association, no mustaches on brothers, some congregations even expect only whites shirts worn by brothers, and the list goes on and on. None of which has anything to do with the scriptures.

Again, good point.

I have a question. Am I misunderstanding the thread who did Jesus really die for? I believe that Jesus died for everyone. Whether Jew or Greek or American. All mankind is trapped in death with out Jesus Christ. The Jew is more accountable because he was under law but all the same all mankind needed Jesus for salvation. I tried to post again on the Whom Jesus Died for thread but was kicked off. Must be some old kingdom hall traits carried over here. Does the people in this room believe that Christ Jesus died for only the Jews?

Hi Rooster,

Yes, I think you may have misunderstood that completely. Be patient please as Bejay is going to break it down for you.

I don't think anyone in the flesh on this board had anything to do with that. Maybe it is a glitch in the software?!! :dontknow

Nope, we are ExJW's that have been out for years, lol. No "borg" here on this board and we certainly do think outside the box! :laughing3

Hope this helps,
Mary

If this was the case then, why was Jesus not sent to the pagan nations, to cause them to repent. Was Jesus sent to, say the Ninevites, those of Tyre, those in Sidon, the Greeks, the Romans? No, he wasn't.

Jesus said:

"...I was not sent forth to any but to the lost sheep of the HOUSE OF ISRAEL." -- Matthew 15:24

So then, Jesus was sent strictly to God's Name People, the "lost sheep of the house of Israel," as he put it... the only ones that had been given God's Law who needed to repent, badly. Jesus was sent to the only ones God had set up as "priests" before the nations, to teach them the ways of righteousness, the nation of Israel. -- See Exodus 19:5, 6; Matthew 10:6; Romans 2:17-20

As mentioned above, you have already examined the verses we showed you, which disclose the fact that God was NOT going to "charge" the sins of the nations against them, because they had received NO LAW from Jehovah, to start with. And this is in keeping with God's sense of Justice. That point has been made quite clear, by Paul...right? -- Romans 4:15; Romans 5:13; Deut. 32:4

Therefore, if you agree that Jehovah is NOT going to "charge" the sins of the nations against them, those people OUTSIDE the nation of Israel, then why do you feel God would send Jesus to the earth, to DIE FOR THEM in a sacrificial sense...if no sin was to be "charged" against them (the nations) in the first place? ...That wouldn't make sense, would it?

God told Abraham, the nations would "bless themselves" by means of His Chosen "Seed." The nations, the pagans would receive God's favor, through the nation of Israel, who would have to adhere to the leadership of the Christ, His Son. Wasn't that the way things were supposed to work out? -- Genesis 22:18

Think about it.
