Can you tell us a little about yourself, like how long you have been a baptized witnesses, how you to be a JW (by way of family, or friends, workmates, etc.)

...Just share any information you wish to share about yourself as one of Jehovah's Witnesses.

It's really nice to see you here, Draconian, on Crossing Euphrates. :rose:

I know you will enjoy the rich spiritual feast that you will find here. So dig into the material and enjoy!

Ask any questions that you have, and we will be happy to help you with your question, to reason on the scriptures with you. There are new thoughts that you will find, but all with scriptual backing.

Jehovah is an awesome God and you will see this more and more as he reveals to you his sacred secrets that he has reserved for those who love him in these last days...

(1 Corinthians 2:9-10) 9 But just as it is written: “Eye has not seen and ear has not heard, neither have there been conceived in the heart of man the things that God has prepared for those who love him.” 10 For it is to us God has revealed them through his spirit, for the spirit searches into all things, even the deep things of God.

So again, welcome!

A Warm Welcome, Draconian

Hello Mia, :welcome:

I am so glad you made it here! :goodjob:

I did not know if you had changed your mind in the midst of all the persecution going on at Paradise. :insane: I tend to see it as Jesus did.

(Matthew 5:11-12)
11 "Happy are YOU when people reproach YOU and persecute YOU and lyingly say every sort of wicked thing against YOU for my sake.

12 Rejoice and leap for joy, since YOUR reward is great in the heavens; for in that way they persecuted the prophets prior to YOU.

Anyways, there is a banquet of spiritual food here. Enjoy! And again,
WELCOME!
:wave

Welcome Draconian

Post by Ground Zero »

Welcome to Crossing Euphrates,

We are so glad you are with us here at CE. I'm new to this board too and I've been learning so many new things.

Remember when we went to the District Conventions and they are always telling us, "we will seen new light"...I was so excited to hear what it would be...but there was never any new light, it was always the same ol, same ol...This is where the new light is that we have been waiting for. Jehovah is revealing it to us now. Psalms 97:11, "Light itself has flashed up for the righteous one, and rejoicing even for the one upright in heart". :D

Enjoy what your are learning. I am really loving it. This is straight from Jehovah.

Agape,

JJ

Thank you for the warm welcome everyone :D

Well, Donald to answer your question first :P I wasn't born into the JWs...I married a young JW man, and things went from there. That was about two years ago now (not long, I know, it makes me sound so indesciseve) I joined onto the PC because of the loving atmosphere I felt there, (plus my hubby too was there, not anymore mind you, but that's a different tale to tell) and that's where I saw your postings but a few days ago. I was intrigued (normally I'll admit, I skim over long posts because it's usually the same old same old, as JJ so wonderfully put it. And it was like :gotit . I don't really know how to describe it other than that, lol.

So yeah, that's the story in a nutshell that lead me here, lol.

So you have been baptized for around 2 years, is that right?

Also, you mentioned your husband is no longer at Paradise Cafe. Did he leave for a reason, or just got too busy or distracted by other things?

...Just wondering...since you know, we've all been kicked off at Paradise Cafe... oh, boy :) LOL

He can still log in and everything, but he had some "controversial questions" that he asked and after he got some replies :nothappy that made him feel a bit bad about asking them he ceased posting. He'll still watch from time to time, but it's pretty rare. :(

You'll find I'm a little shy at times, lol, and usually prefer to watch a convo then actually join one, but I'll make an attempt. I'm still at PC myself at this time, though mostly as a watcher. :lurker

Yeah, 2 years sounds about right. It's kinda funny because I've been baptized a few times. Once as Catholic thanks to my...fanatic grandmother, once as Baptist under my father's request while still a kid...and once kinda scarily in the name of a pagan goddess by my mother and aunt  once again when I was a kid. I've thought about getting baptized properly again in a more spiritual faith sense other than to an organization or religion. Sounds weird, I know, but that's my story, long and rambling as it is. :post:

Oh I see. Sorry to hear that. That kind of stuff makes you mad when you hear it...rubs you the wrong way. :x

Now, you really got my curiosity.

I wonder what was the gist of the questions, and why they got so angry with him?

Does he still go to the kingdom hall, or are there things that he doesn't like about the way the WTS does things these days?

He was asking about the way the Bible is translated, and asking about what could possibly have been lost in translation. People don't seem to like to think that what they are reading may be wrong or missing something because of a language shift.:study2

He does sometimes still go to the KH, not as often as he once did, but since we have no vehicle coming and going is difficult. But he does still study, and talk to people and study with people, and...well, he's not that happy with the WT...mainly because he's caught them in too many lies. Can't say I blame him, but he always says that the word of Jehovah and the word of man is two very different things, and so has kept his faith despite, unlike some who fall away completely.

Oh I see. Well, this is good he has "kept his faith" despite all of things he is seeing around him. I'm sure your studious example has helped him also, in staying the course and maintaining his balance. :study2

Bravo! :)

Draconian-

Hi, how are you this evening? It's so nice to learn a bit about you and your hubby, thanks for sharing. I have written my experience about how I found Living Waters and if you're interested in reading it, it's on this board. It's kinda long but I think you'd enjoy it.

So you say you found our postings "intriguing"? That's great. :study2

Was there anything specific about the thread on PC that motivated you to check it out further?

One thing that I observe about most people over there is that they don't closely examine the scriptural thought of what we are saying, and so they miss our point. They go on their first instinct and that is to reject new ideas presented by us, even with scriptural backing.

But it sounds like you saw value in something and I'm wondering what it was that intrigued you?

I myself found the teachings on Living Waters and Crossing Euphrates intriguing as well. Given the problems at the Kingdom Hall, (UN/NGO sin)I knew Jehovah has to be somewhere, and based on the spiritual information being revealed I see Jehovah's hand here. But everyone must judge for himself on that, not because of what anyone tries to tell you, but it has to be based on scripture.

When still at the Kingdom Hall, I began to feel that the information that we were getting from Watchtower was pretty much the same stuff, in my own opinion. Every year I was hoping for some exciting new light at any of the assemblies or conventions that we attended. I was looking for something new already! (After close to 30 years) Well, HERE is where I found it - the missing new information I was looking for and expecting to get from Watchtower.

So, enjoy yourself here, and you can post questions or comments after anything that you read.

Hi draconian, :sunny

I think that your being able to identify 'truth' is so great in the midst of all of that confusion going on over there at PC. :allright

There are many, many articles on Crossing Euphrates. If you have questions, just ask. We will be very happy to answer or direct you to another article that answers that peticular question. By the way, I like your avatar...a ball of fire, lol. :okay

Thats kool your husband has kept his faith in Jehovah in spite of the what the Society has done.. :horseshit: ...which the list goes on and on. ..lol. They [Society] claim you cannot have a relationship with Jehovah without them [Society]. :assimilation: That may be true for the ones who actually worship THE SOCIETY. :paperbag: But not for me either!

Your husband maybe interested in knowing that there really is no anointed in the kingdom halls  as I found out in the last few year and since I professed to being one for sooooooooooo many years.

You see besides those 40 Basic Truths that JW's teach, the rest is all made up, false prophesy. :badmood:

This article may interest him & you as it proves that there could not be none of the 144,000 among Jehovah's Witnesses:

Singing A New Song Before Jehovah!

I see you like using smilies also to express yourself! :artist

It was the thread about Romans 5, which was a scripture I myself had wondered about. I followed that thread quite avidly, and followed the few links put up onto PC. :D

Also thank you MM and Don for those wonderful links, they are definitely food for thought. :popcorn

Hey Mia, :bright

You are very welcome for those links! :rose: Those are definitely "solid food-type" articles...spiritual food for thought! :news:

By the way, if you want to get more details on the 200 Million individuals of faith -- here an article, long but very, very enlightening. It gives you more info on these ones that Jehovah is going to gather very quickly for His Namesake. (Isaiah 5:26; Isaiah 66:18, 19) :bulb:

Please take a look and let me know what you think.

If you have any questions after reading, just post them below the articles. :this

Here is that link:
